What PageBop stores on your device

PageBop stores your book titles, page images, crop history, page order, review state, exports, and processing status on your iPhone. Account connection information is also stored on your device. Authentication tokens are kept in the iOS Keychain.

When page content leaves your device

Capture and crop review are local. Page content leaves your iPhone only when you choose to process or share it. Processing sends original images, saved crop versions, crop corrections, page order, and book information to the shared PageBop service. This preserves the evidence needed to review and correct results.

The PageBop service sends the selected page images to OpenAI to extract text. Capture and crop review do not require an AI request. We disable optional response storage. OpenAI does not use API content to train its models by default. Its abuse monitoring can retain content for up to 30 days, with exceptions for safety or legal requirements. The service links capture evidence, extracted text and processing status to your verified PageBop account and book session. Saved corrections and page order help identify capture problems and assess quality and improve PageBop's capture tools. The service and its saved data are hosted on Railway in the United States. We retain uploaded books and corrections until you delete your account; removing a book from the active list does not erase its server copies. We do not automatically delete saved pages based on age.

Exports and sharing

When you export a PDF, page-image archive, text, Markdown, or a capture archive, iOS sends the file only to the app, person, or storage location that you select in the share sheet.

App analytics and advertising

The PageBop iPhone app does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or an advertising identifier. It does not sell personal information.

Purchases and page credits

PageBop uses Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat to offer page-credit packs, restore purchases, and show your credit balance. RevenueCat receives a server-assigned purchase identifier and purchase information needed to provide these features and purchase analytics. This identifier does not contain your name or email address. PageBop links it to an account verified with Sign in with Apple so that signing in to the same account can recover the correct credit balance. Apple and RevenueCat process this information under their own privacy terms.

Website analytics

Cloudflare hosts the public website and processes request information, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The public site does not load Google Analytics or advertising trackers.

Accounts and service records

Sign in with Apple supplies an app-specific identifier that we use to create your PageBop account. We do not request your name or email address from Apple. We store encrypted Apple refresh tokens, session records, and a purchase identifier to provide sign-in and credit access. Hosting services also process IP addresses and request records for operation and security. These records are not used for advertising.

Deletion

You can delete a local book in the app. This does not delete server copies. Removing a remote session from the active list keeps its server evidence, processing records, exports and archive copies. To delete your account, open Page credits in the library menu and choose Delete account. After confirmation, account access stops on all devices. We remove your server images, corrections, extracted text, exports, archives, processing records, and account information. We also revoke Apple access and request deletion of your RevenueCat customer record. Remaining credits are removed and cannot be recovered.

Deletion normally finishes within minutes, after current requests complete. If a provider is unavailable, the service keeps the credentials needed to retry and continues automatically. Provider security or legally required records follow the provider's retention rules. Local books remain on your iPhone; you can delete them in the library. Deleting your account does not request an App Store refund. Files shared to other apps or people must be deleted at those destinations.

Children

PageBop is not directed to children under 13. Students must follow their school rules and use only material they have the right to digitize and process.
